Dia's Andy: Through the Lens of Patronage. Special exhibition publication issued by Dia Art Foundation in conjunction with the Andy Warhol exhibition at Dia:Beacon, May 15, 2005-April 10, 2006.
Published to mark the 10th anniversary of The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, the exhibition presented works from Dia's important Warhol holdings and gifts to the museum, including paintings, sculptures, Brillo Boxes, Cow wallpaper, films, Time Capsules, Skulls and Disaster works.
Designed in the spirit of Warhol's Interview magazine, the publication combines archival photographs, facsimiles of vintage magazine pages, essays and documentary material relating to Warhol's work, patronage, portrait commissions, fashion, film, celebrity culture and the Factory. Dia itself describes the publication as modeled on Interview and produced to contextualize the exhibition.
Lavishly illustrated throughout in color and black-and-white, with striking patterned pages based on Warhol imagery including Cow and Skulls.
Condition: Fine. Clean, bright and well-preserved throughout with only very light handling wear. Binding sound, pages clean and vivid.
