first edition of The Mind's Ear by J. D. Solomon, published by Bibliagora, Hounslow, in 1979.
Solomon, a Cambridge-trained geologist and musician, presents an independently developed metaphysical philosophy questioning the assumption—shared by conventional science and religion—that reality and value reside primarily in the permanent, unchanging aspects of the universe. Drawing upon music, geology, physics, mathematics, psychology and philosophy, he proposes instead an ever-changing universe of activity and experience. Subjects include perception, memory, language, meaning, truth and falsehood, value judgments, science, religion and musical experience.
First edition and first printing. 169 pages. Original blue cloth hardcover with printed dust jacket. ISBN 0906031028. Includes the publisher's separately printed errata sheet.
Very Good book in a Fair-to-Good dust jacket. Blue cloth binding firm; pages clean with light age-toning.Dust jacket is substantially age-toned and stained, with spotting, rubbing, creasing, edge wear, small chips and tears. The jacket remains complete and presentable despite the wear.
