A scarce privately published anthology celebrating more than twenty years of Joyce Hargreaves's illustrations for the Research Into Lost Knowledge Organisation Journal. Hargreaves, a Camberwell School of Art graduate and noted illustrator of mythology, fabulous beasts and zodiac symbolism, created detailed drawings inspired by ancient art, archaeology, sacred geometry, heraldry, folklore and comparative symbolism. Subjects include the Golden Section, zodiac figures, dragons, Poseidon, Egyptian imagery, the Jelling monuments and numerous mythological creatures. Introduction by Robert Harris.
Fine condition. Internally clean and securely bound, with crisp black-and-white illustrations. Covers show moderate shelf wear, a vertical crease near the upper front edge, light rubbing, edge fading and minor corner wear. Please examine the photographs for condition details.
