Le Corbusier - Idealistic Architect

by Ir. W. S. van de Erve

Utrecht: N.V. A. Oosthoek's Uitgevers Maatschappij, 1951

Early Dutch monograph on Le Corbusier, published in 1951, during a formative period of his architectural career and international influence.

The book presents Le Corbusier's idealistic approach to architecture, housing, and urban planning, illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs, architectural drawings, plans, and schematic diagrams. A strong period document reflecting early postwar modernist thinking, with particular focus on functionalism, spatial planning, and the relationship between design, technology, and human life.

The original graphic dust jacket is especially striking and adds considerable visual appeal for collectors of modernist design and architecture.
