Old Testament Wisdom: Keys to Bible Interpretation, by Manly P. Hall. Second edition, second printing, published by the Philosophical Research Society, Los Angeles. Copyright 1987. 312 pages, with bibliography and index.
Conceived as a companion to Hall's The Mystical Christ, this volume presents an esoteric and symbolic interpretation of the Old Testament. Hall examines the descent of the Holy Scriptures, Moses and the law of Israel, the Five Books of Moses, creation, Biblical symbolism, the Kabbalah and a selection of famous Bible stories. Illustrated throughout with unusual images and decorative vignettes drawn from early books and manuscripts.
Original illustrated softcover in fine condition. Binding is firm and square; pages appear clean and unmarked. Light rubbing and shelf wear to the covers, with minor wear and small creases at the corners and edges. A particularly scarce second-edition, second-printing copy from the original Philosophical Research Society publication.
