Published in conjunction with the Guggenheim Museum's landmark 1969 Roy Lichtenstein exhibition. Waldman surveys and interprets the development of Lichtenstein's work from 1960 through 1969, including his comic-strip paintings, landscapes, brushstrokes, modern paintings and industrial subjects. The striking dust jacket reproduces Lichtenstein's iconic "Image Duplicator" of 1963.
Very Good hardcover in a Fair to Good dust jacket. Binding remains firm and the illustrated contents are complete and generally clean, with light age-toning and scattered foxing, primarily to the endpapers. Former price sticker and handwritten $25 price on the front pastedown. Original $8.50 dust jacket is noticeably foxed and soiled, with rubbing, creasing, edge wear, short tears and small chips at the corners and spine ends. Please see photographs for condition.
