The State Hermitage Paintings (1968 Hardcover) Soviet, Moscow - Russian Art Book

The State Hermitage: Paintings

Moscow / Leningrad, 1966

Scarce cloth hardcover museum catalogue from the State Hermitage Museum, published in 1966 by Sovetsky Khudozhnik. Fully illustrated throughout with high-quality black-and-white plates and select color reproductions.

Text presented in four languages: English, French, German, and Russian, reflecting the international scope of the Hermitage collection. Includes 54 pages of scholarly text, followed by unpaginated image plates covering major European schools from the 15th-20th centuries.

A solid mid-century Soviet art publication, increasingly uncommon in original cloth binding, and desirable for collectors of museum catalogues, Russian art history, and Cold War-era cultural publishing.
