Scarce 1987 first edition of this attractively designed Indian educational book explaining water—its importance to life, natural forms, sources, uses, distribution and pollution. Written by Rama and illustrated throughout with atmospheric two-color artwork by noted Indian illustrator Suddhasattwa Basu.
Published by the National Book Trust, India, New Delhi, as part of the Nehru Bal Pustakalaya series. 64 pages. Original illustrated softcover wrappers. Intended for readers aged 12-14, but particularly appealing as an example of late-20th-century Indian book design and illustration.
Very Good condition. Binding sound; pages age-toned but clean, with the illustrations remaining bright. Covers show general age-toning and spotting, rubbing, corner creases, edge wear, and a few small chips and short tears. Original price of Rs. 2.50 printed on the rear cover. No dust jacket, as issued.
